Bryan Galgano's thoughts:

Let's just get the few cons out of the way (some of which are beyond any race organizer's control):
1) Traffic (luckily I was visiting and had a nice hotel spot, but beware if you need to drive to get places)
2) Recently, I feel like the RnR expos do not live up to what they once were. Access is often difficult and parking is getting more and more expensive. Also, the options for swag have changed and not for the better in my opinion.
3) Course ends relatively far from the start, but the geography of the city seems to make this necessary. Still makes for a hard walk back after some of those hills.
My negatives end there. This race has it all, unless you are looking for a PR. Fan support is the best around and really makes a difference on a hot day. Spectators really did their homework, many signs made me laugh out loud. The course shows so much of this amazing city. Amply stocked aid stations, including perfectly timed oranges, helped me through those two last miles. All this and a great staging area for the finish make for as perfect a race as a runner could dream.
My only concern recommending this race wholeheartedly is I have had bad experiences at RnR races since Nashville that felt like cost saving measures that may hurt experiences at RnR races in the future. I am hopeful I am wrong and look forward to that being the case at the Virginia Beach race in September.
