Kim Prytherch's thoughts:

Expo: there was packet pick up the night before and the morning of. they forgot to give us beer tickets and said we would get them with our medal at the finish but they didn't. I never saw any beer either.
Parking was free and plentiful. They had actual bathrooms open at the start and finish which is good because there were a few random potties on the route, but never more than one in one spot, and they were so far off course that they were easily missed.
They started the race with muskets which was cool. The course was open, but they used cones on the main road. The course was well marked and they had plenty of volunteers.
It was in the 80s, but they didn't have many water stops. Maybe 4 total for 13 miles.
The course had one mile of dirt road, 1 mile of soft sand road, and many miles of uneven, broken, dangerous road.
The medal was nice, the AG trophies were cool, shaped like cannons. There was no food at the finish at all, and the water was mini bottles and they were warm. No ice or medical tent at the finish, which sucked because my friend was very overheated and could have used some. We finished within the time limit and they were already breaking stuff down.
They also lost the last 2 runners. They told us we were last and when we said that there were 2 behind us, they thought we were nuts.
They definitely have some work to do before next year.
Scenery was pretty most of the time, a little sketchy in the beginning.
