Race for the Ark is a wonderful event that goes towards a great cause. The race starts early, 7:45am, allowing for cooler temperatures and a chance at a PR. The course is flat and fast with lots of trees to provide shade. There was one aid station at about the half way point with water for those who were running/walking.

The post-race event had bananas, oranges, bagels, muffins, water, and gatorade. The local massage school was there to give free post race massages as well. The awards were given to the top 3 overall male/female and there was also top 3 in each 5 year age group. The awards were really nice wooden carved awards as well as a water bottle.

I highly recommend this event for someone in Charleston looking for a easy course. The proceeds go to a wonderful cause and the T-shirts are really nice as well.
