Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. Newport Rhode Races kicks off Daffodil Days with the races starting from Easton’s Beach where nearly 100,000 daffodils will be in bloom. (We’ll call it Dash through the Daffodils!)

The first half of the course highlights the best of Newport with craggy shores, wide open ocean vistas, historic mansions and intricate architecture. After passing Easton’s Beach at the half way point, the full heads out to Middletown past Hanging Rock and Surfer’s End to a challenging course with more gorgeous views. The race finishes back along the water at Easton’s Beach.

The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 8:00 a.m. from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:15 am – all from the same beautiful seaside start.

Samantha Roderigues's thoughts:

This is my fourth year doing this race because I love it so much!

This series always takes amazing photos and they're free! You also always get a nice technical t-shirt and a finishers medal! If you do all of the series, your individual race medals combine to make one mega medal! This year they also gave some neat gift certificates in the swag bag!

The aid stations are about every two miles and half Gatorade and water. I believe some have fuel (I just bring my own so I don't know for sure). The volunteers working them are also always super nice!

The course scenery is my favorite! I love running by the water! Even the parts not along the water are through the beautiful mansions!

I really enjoy the rolling hills of this course. I think they keep it interesting without being too overly difficult. I always find the course flies by!

Last year as a Rhode Master (if you do a certain amount of the series) I was able to basically park AT the start line. This year I had to park in normal parking, which is in separate lots further from the line. The lot was easy to find, with plenty of space, and while I'm sure you could easily just walk/jog to the start, they also offer shuttles to get you there.

Having done so many races with Rhode Races I would say they are really well managed and want everyone to have a great time!
