This race, from start to finish, is amazing. The run really prepared me not only physically, but mentally for the Chicago Marathon, as there were aid stations, people cheering us runners on, the camaraderie of each other, the race is just a darn good one. The only change I would hope to see made if possible, which is unlikely as its run on the Chicago Lakefront Path, is trying to have the bikers detoured. The path is already small and crowded and all of the runners I saw were running 2x2 or all the way to the right (proper path etiquette) but there are those rogue bikers who feel the path is the Tour de Chicago and make it unsafe. The party at jackson park is always a treat, the beer tastes soooo good and the goodies are plentiful! I also appreciate the ride back to my car at Wilson/start line (FREE PARKING if you get there early and get a spot on simmonds drive). As a CARA member, I always look forward to this race and will run it for training.
