Jenn 's thoughts:

I ran the half marathon for this in 2009 and 2010, and the 5K in 2011. All times I had pretty much the same experience, and they were positive ones.

This race is pancake flat, so if you're a new runner, it's absolutely perfect. The expo was run a lot smoother the 2nd year (as far as picking up numbers goes at least), and the "swag" was always great. From all three years combined, I got things like lunch bags, a cool hat, and a keychain. It's also a really affordable race. The medal is okay (hey, that matters!)

The biggest issue I had with this race was parking/traffic at the start. The start line is on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, and getting TO the start line was always a huge issue. We always left early enough that it wasn't a tremendous issue, but it was another stress we didn't need.

The only other issue is the course is really kind of boring. You get a great view of scenic Merrick Avenue, and from what I understand the marathon course is pretty much all on the Wantagh Parkway, which is booooooring.
