TJ 's thoughts:

The Little Rock 5K was a fun shake out race prior to the Marathon the next day. If you are a beginner racer, it would be a great race as well. It was very fun and low key all at the same time. The race directors were out on the course cheering everyone on which was a nice touch. It is runner and walker friendly! I walked the race to take it easy before the marathon the next day.

T-shirt/Swag: The bibs were sturdy and looked like new even at the end of the race. For those of us who save race bibs, it was nice to have one that didn't get all crumpled. The t-shirts were nice tech shirt but ran a little large.

Aid station: Along the course, there was a water stop with very happy and cheerful volunteers.

Course scenery: It was downtown Little Rock but it was shaded at some points. The Heifer International cheer station was the highlight with the alpacas.

Expo: Since the 5K was part of the Marathon weekend, you picked up your bib at the expo. It was a nice sized expo with a lot of vendors. The bib pickup process was quick and easy. Also, I liked that there were several different photo opportunities. If you want it to be a quick stop or a shopping adventure, you could do either easily.

Elevation: It was a basically flat course with 1 or 2 hills. It was a nice change coming from Atlanta with courses that are flat but only means smaller hills!

Overall: I would recommend this to a friend. I especially recommended it for a beginner looking for a supportive and fun 5K!
