A fun fall race in beautiful Leavenworth! I ran the half marathon, which started at 9am. The full started at 7am, and met up with the half course after 13.1 miles. It was fun talking with people during the race who were doing the full - for the most part, they said they liked meeting the half marathoners halfway, because it gave them a burst of energy to be with people who were fresh.

There were a decent number of spectators out - a lot of them probably hungover!!!, since the big Oktoberfest festival is also occurring the same weekend. Aid stations were as advertised.

No expo to speak of, but the parking and packet pickup was super easy, and it was nice to be able to do both of those on the morning of the race without issue.

The course is a mix of paved roads and trails, and had some gorgeous scenery! There were two out and back portions of the race, but I like those, because I look for my friends when I'm running.

Post race goodies were plentiful as well. We stuck around the finish chute for a long time cheering on people who were finishing - a lot of athletes stuck around, so the finish line was really fun.

One small gripe - the race shirt and medal both said marathon on them. Since I only ran the half, I felt like a bit of an imposter!
