Tiffany 's thoughts:

This is a newer race - only its second year. I didn't make it to packet pick up so i picked it up the morning of the race without any problem. Parking was right there at the start finsih line, Wick Recreation Area in Mill Creek Park. Because it was a small race parking wasn't an issue. and the rec area has bathroom facilties available.

The half marathon started before the 5K and the race directors made multiple announcements to this effect. The anthem was played and then we were off. The course started with us exiting the rec area and heading out onto a city street to head into the park. The road into the park is downhill, a nice way to start a race. Once into the park theres a quick out and back and then the course starts the loop around two lakes. It's at this point that the hills start. The roads curves back and forth so you are always seeing something new. The aid station on the course were every three miles and the volunteers were great about filling my handheld for me. Four of the final five miles were mostly downhill which was a nice change. the final mile of the race was back uphill to the rec area where the race started.

Because the race is still new i think the race directors are still learning. My mom was waiting for me at the end and had to stop them from taking down the clock and timing mats (I wasn't the last one on the course). There wasn't a course limit listed anywhere in the race info. I overheard the race organizers discussing things to implement for next year including having a pace vehicle at the front and a car behind the final runner as well.

The shirts were a nice tech shirt with the races logo on the front and the finisher medals were wooden disks with the logo burned on the front (the wood came from trees in the park)
