Stephanie Fichtelman's thoughts:

This year was the 10th anniversary for the half, so they gave out long sleeve tech shirts that fit great! The expo is small, but they had great race gear for sale at fair prices which I appreciated. They had a huge kids area upstairs for the kids race packet pickup that my daughter loved. The race starts at the University of Toledo, and there are not that many access points to get into the parking lot, so it took a really long time to get in to park. Gear check was quick, porta potty lines were long, so I did not get to pee before the race. Corrals were easy to get into, and they had pacers set up every 5 minutes. The course is great. Not as flat as they claim, but the hills were not too bad. The half runs through the neighborhood of Ottawa Hills and the homes there are beautiful! The full split about mile 7. Aid stations were spaced well. Downhill finish, and finishing in the football stadium is very cool.
You cannot beat the finish line party at this race. 2 free beers, pizza and pasta, and an extra tent sponsored by PNC for families and spectators to get some free BBQ sandwiches.
