I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to sign up for the Friendsgiving Friends themed virtual race. UH YES! I am in my postpartum running journey, so a virtual race and one that offered 1 mile, was perfect for me. Since I wasn't sure how capable I would be of a 5k, I signed up to just commit to one mile, as I knew I could walk a mile at the least. I was sad that it was raining the morning of Thanksgiving so I had to complete my mile on the treadmill....I mean I didn't have to, but I didn't want to go out in the storm. It was tougher than I wanted it to be and I did have to walk, but I challenged myself to go faster when I was running and got my fastest mile post partum. The race management was great and communicated what we needed to know. They shipped us our swag bags so we could have our gear in time, instead of waiting for the medals. I was appreciative of this because I lived in the cozy sweatshirt all Thanksgiving day. We still haven't got our medals yet, but with shipping issues, it's not surprising and completely understandable. This was such a fun race if you love FRIENDS!
