My first time to Detroit's Belle Isle, and it was truly memorable. I hadn't expected it to be so lovely and scenic, which made running the Detroit Women's Half Marathon even more enjoyable. The course was flat, with well-placed aid stations staffed with oodles of volunteers, and there were even motivational signs to inspire us as we ran. Great T-shirt, gorgeous medal, wonderful post-race food, and a wonderful spirit of camaraderie amongst the women running the D! Can't wait to do it again this fall.
