Stephanie Fichtelman's thoughts:

This race is just kind of boring. A ton of roundabouts on the course and the course stayed very crowded through about 5 miles for me. I nearly tripped a few times at water stops with all the people cutting over and slowing down on a 1 lane section of road. First couple miles had some potholes you needed to be careful of.
Expo was small, not worth making extra time for. They sent an email saying race shirts were large, but I found it to be insanely tight, and very long. The design was kind of dumb, so I would not wear it anyways likely.
Race hotel was great offering a good breakfast spread before the race with shuttles and late checkout options.
Distance on my watch was exactly 13.1 which is always great. Race management was great. Gear check line was insane-just take the bags and sort them over the course of the race. Corrals were easy to get into, even very late (due to gear check line) They were not fooling about the hills between miles 7-9; they aren't terrible, just too much treadmill running over the winter left me underprepared for it. Very minimal crowd support outside of little pockets here and there, and the last mile was the best for support. The 12th mile upgrade was very slight, not worth stressing about. First Watch served pancakes and coffee. I noticed a post race massage area, but it was so cold out I did not wait in line for it. Volunteers were great. I like the medal, it was a good size. Overall, we paid $31 and it was worth it for that price
