To start, parking was an utter disaster. The one-lane road was backed up for nearly 30 minutes as buses to the starting line got in the way of parking. Luckily, and alertly, they delayed the 10K start time for those stuck in traffic, so everyone was able to start at a reasonable time.
The course was all trail, with some bridges and a bit of gravel/pavement in the last quarter mile. It was a single-track course which was filled with many people walking the entire course, or resting going up a hill. In the future, I would reccommend a different start time for people that will specifically be walking the entire race. I yelled out my fair share of "Walk on the right, please!"
The course was fun and challenging. There were a few decent elevation gains of 100 or so feet, as well as windy ups and downs. The course was well marked and the two aid stations also served cake!
After the race, there was more cake, bananas, nutella sandwiches, marshmallows and more. Best post-race spread I've ever seen! The finish line got a little packed, as the medals and food were handed out too close to where people were crossing the line.
They also provided free race photos, but there were only cameras at the starting/finish line.
All in all, after a frustrating start to the day, it was a great race on a beautiful day with some awesome snacks and beautiful medals!
