If you are looking for a local tri with great scenery the Beach Bum is a blast. Small race but big on fun. Starts with a little swim in the ocean. Then a beach bike ride. Helmets are suggested but not required. Any bike you want is acceptable. There were lots of beach cruisers and a few race bikes. After that it was an out and back run. Quite a few people ran barefoot. If you want ocean scenery, this is the race for you. The race organizers are awesome and very helpful if you have any questions. One of my all time favorite tris. And the coconut trophies are certainly unique!
