What an amazing inaugural event. The expo was small but well run. They had food trucks, and some shaded seating, although I wish there was more. The expo was inside a building that had no AC so shade was highly desired after! The live music was fun and the food truck was amazing. Expo parking was a breeze. I loved the tee, I am a fan of cotton and it fit great, plus it was cute!
There was a free beer per runner.

Race day the hubs dropped me off and picked me up, so I cannot comment about parking. The bathrooms at the Charlotte Knights' stadium were open so we got to use real toilets. The race started promptly at 7:04 (It's a Charlotte thing) and we were off. We got to run past Panther's Stadium on opur way to 277, which was closed down for the race. SO MUCH FUN running on the highway, even though it was hilly. Back into the city for the last two-ish miles, back past Knights' and Panther's Stadium for the finish. The aid stations were on point. At the forst one we were given reusable cups and were told to keep them, they were refilled at subsequent stations. FUN! The cup will come in handy, as it folds up and can be stowed in a pouch for future use. I kept it in the outside pocket of my Nathan Belt between uses during the race. At the end we were given reusbale collapsible water bottles. My only complaints: only bananas at the finish (i HATE bananas) and the course was a wee short.
I will be back in 2020!
