This was a perfect First race for me. The event is full of little details that make the day incredibly special and exciting. The course never gets boring, taking a tour of many of San Diego's finest attractions. The race starts at dawn on Point Loma which is a cliff top ocean peninsula overlooking the Pacific, the San Diego Bay, and downtown. The race start is exciting and loud, but there is a spot overlooking the ocean which is bathed in quiet where many runners sit to watch the first rays of sunlight, while meditating, reading, or just enjoying the view in preparation for the race. I enjoyed every bit of this day and I would love to run this race again soon.
