I was originally signed up to do the longer portion of this race but had to change it last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. However, that didn't affect how much fun I had at this race! The race expo was absolutely amazing. Everything was well organized and you received an awesome pullover sweatshirt. It was very nice and I enjoyed wearing it after the race. What's a hot chocolate race without some chilly weather? The weather in Houston was actually nice and cool on race morning. There were also some showers so the park that the race was stationed in was a bit muddy. However, the course was fine and it had no impact on the energy at all! There were many participants and a lively crowd. The 5k course was simple to follow and this followed a very popular street that many local races take. Once I finished, I was able to obtain my finisher's mug with hot chocolate and plenty of snacks. It was a well organized race and one I'll do again soon!
