Amanda TheSwagMama's thoughts:

This is not just a race, it is a festival for the entire family to enjoy! It is held in Mission Bay during March/April, so it isn't too hot yet and the views are beautiful. It's a mostly flat, paved course that loops around Fiesta Island and offers good course support. I registered when they were doing a flash sale, but there are usually promo codes for this race which makes it a budget friendly event. Parking is free, but the later you arrive the further you will have to park. Packet pick-up is available the day before in Pacific Beach or the morning of the race, and includes a chip-timed bib and a t-shirt. The race itself is family friendly and even offers a stroller division with its own awards category and a fun run for the kids. The post-race festival includes a finisher medal; beer/wine garden (you receive a free drink with your registration); fruit/bagels/water; several vendor booths passing out lots of swag; a bounce house and fun activities for the kiddos; a playground; fun music; photo booth and more! The race benefits the autism care and treatment (ACT) of military families and you also have the option to become a fundraiser for the event. Overall, it's a great event that's fun for the whole family!
