This is another wonderful family event. Held in Central Park in Schenectady, NY there is a great park for kids to play in while one parent runs. One issue I had was no one knew where we were starting from. It was a very interesting start. Once things got going everything went smoothly. It was a run through some nice neighborhoods and ended up back in Central Park. The kids run was the best I have ever seen. Batman was the leader and he led the kids in stretches. Then he had a story of how the Joker had robbed a bank and the kids had to get him. The Joker came out and there was a fight between the two. Batman got knocked to the ground and the Joker ran off. The kids then chased him and ran with Batman around the pond in the park. My kids absolutely loved it. Their race was free and they got a long sleeve shirt, that was identical to mine as well as a lot of candy from the Joker.

This a great race. It starts and ends with a firework display. You get to run a majority of the race through Washington Park while seeing all the beautiful Christmas lights. In years past they have given a running jacket, this last year was a nice shirt. Size was really small on guys though.

This is a point to point run. You start in Central Park in Schenectady and end up in the Corning Preserve in Albany. There are some very nice views as you run on the bike path. There are a lot of spots that spectators can cheer you on. Pace groups were great.

This is a great race. Shirts are great and they have a nice after party with lots of food to eat once you are done.

I won entry into this race last year and I am so glad I did. I probably wouldn't have gone out and tried it because it was so close to the timing of some of my other races. This was a hilly course that led you out from the Turning Stone casino into some of the smaller towns around it. Not all the roads had big shoulders or well kept shoulders to run on, which made it a little difficult at times. Roads were not all closed so you had to be careful of traffic. There were a lot of great volunteers out on the the course to help out. Part of the run was on roads that went through the country and farms. It was very pretty and I questioned why people said it was so hilly until I got to the end. There were a lot of hills at the end and even the finish line was on an uphill. Each runner got a really nice techwick shirt, as well as a nice finishers medal. This race is part of an entire weekend of races.
