Despite the weather this was our favorite half marathon to date! The course was beautiful yet still challenging, and everything was very clearly marked. Not to mention the crowd support was incredible! I would highly recommend this race and can't wait to return next year :)

Our first time running the Hot Chocolate 15k and definitely not the last! The expo was disappointing due to the pain of parking downtown and lack of vendors, but race day made up for it! We love running along the river and that the start and finish were within walking proximity of each other. The swag is incredible and the chocolate is fantastic post-race. Highly recommend!

This was my first full marathon in-person and I couldn't have asked for a better course or community! The weather can be unpredictable this time of year, but the fans show up no matter what! The support along the course is unmatched and the event is very well coordinated. They offer other races throughout the weekend including a 10 mile run and various challenges so there are options for all levels of runners. Bonus: Minnesota is relatively flat so there's not too much elevation to worry about! They also make transportation very simple by offering free public transportation to and from the start line if you are wearing your bib. I would highly recommend this race for both new and experienced marathon participants!

2021 was my first time running this race so things were slightly different due to COVID. The island is STUNNING as-is so the lilacs make it even more beautiful this time of year. The island is relatively small so we were able to see the majority of it during this run. They offer a run and walk option so this race is great for all levels of runners! I would suggest bringing your bikes to explore more afterwards! You get to the island via ferry which can become expensive if you take multiple trips. You are offered discounted rates through the race, but it would have been nice to get complimentary transportation! Overall I would definitely recommend this race and visiting the island as it is a must see!

Overall a well organized race! I wish we could have seen a little more of Austin during the run as it felt like we ran through many residential areas, but the finish line was fantastic! Coming from Minnesota this was a great choice for a run in January. I would definitely recommend this event to others looking for a race in the Austin area.
