A group of team mates travel to Good Life Halfsy looking for a competitive field and a fast course. We applied and were accepted through the elite program. We really appreciated the hospitality and rooms opportunities. We chose this race as it is 6 weeks from CIM and this course looked like it had a similar down hill profile. I'll admit, the elvation chart is a tad misleading, there are more inclines and rollers than I expected. The uphill finish before you hit the finish is a killer. However the last quarter mile after that his is flying fast and it is wall to wall cheering.

The expo was pretty standard, quick packet pick up. I liked the beer and specialty glasses. I had some stomach issues that had me stopping at every porta potty the last 5k. I am very thankfull there were more than enough. The aid stations were all well run and plentiful.

The shirts fit well, I like that they actually offered and carried XS. The medals were big as well. Lost of treats and snack at the end along with PT and massages.

I'm adding this to my list for next year. The

KC marathon has undergone many changes in the last couple years. Changing of race directors to an actual member of the KC running community was a huge step up. Dave has brought on Garmin as the title sponsor, continues to add new and exciting features and brings out the best that KC has to offer its racers.

New course, its hard to get an extremely flat fast course in KC area but the new course offers a great fast down hill finish. Neighborhoods and local business compete in cheer stations that include all kinds of themes an excitements. There are multiple live concerts going on along the race course.

5 race distances, there is something for everyone. I really love that KC marathon has moved their expo to union station. A beautiful spacious venue with a lot of history here in KC. I love that our out of town visitors now have this added to their experience. I love the shirt designs this year as well. KC Marathon partnered with Lululemon for some awesome, high quality logo merchandise as well. I am in love with my lululemon, KC leggings.

There is a race with in a race add this year with a smaller chunk of the course having additional timing mats. The winners of this race brought how a new Garmin watch! I am in love with that idea.

Getting close parking and porta potty access has never been an issue for me. The course it self winds though many of KCs historic and popular spots.

Rock the parkway is a KC favorite for a reason. Year after year KC running company puts on a solid event. This race is a part of the Heartland series and is by far the best event of the three. This is the best competition your will find at a KC half marathon race. With prize money offered for the top 4 men and women, along with masters prizes. Huge metals and quality tech shirts for every runner. Wave/pulse start to really help with congestion at the begning was a great addtion.

The course is pretty flat, a slight incline around mile 10 will get you working a bit then a fast down hill finish. Lost of fun signs and neighborhoods come out to cheer on the racers. If you live in KC, you need to be doing this event!

This years event had a pretty strong head wind on the final 4 miles. I run this race looking for great competition and this year didn't disappoint. Finished the race with a new friend of mine and huge influencer Sara. Sprinting the final mile battling for second. This is the type of atmosphere that brings in PRs!
