This was my first marathon. I knew going into it the beginning was a little hilly and not to over exert myself. The whole time I was just admiring the course and the sights, I usually run with headphones listening to music/podcasts/audio books but I did the entire marathon without anything and never got bored!

First half marathon. So easy to navigate from signing up (at the expo the day before) to getting to the race and transiting the course. Beautiful views and tons of spectators making it even more enjoyable.
The last few miles around diamond Head is hilly but full of spectators on the upward journey to motivate you. The last stretch before the finish flattens out and I love that they scan your bib just before the finish so you hear your name being announced as you cross the lind

This was a fun run for a good cause! We had a big group of us fundraising and running for Give Kids the World in memory of my BF's cousin who passed away after a wonderful trip there. It's a great way to make a difference in little kids lives and give their families a stress free trip.

The course takes you through the village the families stay at and then down the road. It's flat and afterwards you can explore the park to see what they do for the kids who visit there!
