I loved RnRLV! The course, being on the strip, gave you so much to look at that the miles just flew by! It was completely flat and aid stations were plentiful! Of course, the organization of everything was excellent - RnR really knows what they are doing!

My only "complaint" would be the location of packet pickup... it was maybe ~2 miles up the strip, away from the main portion where all the hotels are. The day before a half marathon, coupled with other Vegas shenanigans... that made for more tired legs than necessary! Still not enough of a downside to not experience this great race though!

A+ for course, organization, experience, everything! Would I do it again? I want to say yes, but probably not, since the next time I go to Vegas I would like to just relax and enjoy all that Sin City has to offer instead of worrying about running 13.1 in the middle of the trip! I highly recommend to run it at least once though!

This race deserves a run... once (in my opinion). It's on the pricier side for me, so I probably won't be running it again, but for you it might be perfect!

You had to pickup your packet before the race, unless you wanted to pay for race day pickup. This is a downside to me since I live ~1 hour away from the race site. I did like to expo on Friday - although it was small, there were a few good vendors and I ended up purchasing a medal hanger that I had had my eye on for a while.

Race morning I parked at a local high school to take the shuttle to the race site. This went smoothly, but the shuttle ride was probably ~20-25 minutes, and then there was a 5-10 minute walk from where to shuttle dropped us off to the start area. This walk was very very poorly lit (aka. not at all).

The race was HOT and I carried my own hydration pack, so I can't really comment on the aid stations as I didn't utilize them. The race very fairly hilly, but not enough that it should deter anyone from running it - just be prepared! Some neighborhood running, some back country road running (which I love - so scenic!). The finish line is nice - they give you boas and tiaras right before you cross it - and there's some wine to be sampled. I didn't sample the wine, as the line was very long and I was so dehydrated from the heat!

One more negative in my book - once I finished I had to walk ~10-15 minutes back to the shuttles and it was a 20-25 minute ride back to where I had parked. After a long run in the heat that was the last thing I wanted to do.

All in all, I would recommend you give this race a shot! Maybe you'll love it and I think a lot of my opinion is due to the heat the day I ran it so don't let me throw you off!

Let me be up front and say that I ran a nice PR at the Frederick 5K, so I have very fond memories of it! There is plenty of parking at the race location, and you can pick up your packet the night of the race, which is a big plus in my book. The scenery along the race is great - nice back country roads - and the start and finish are at the same place, making for easy race logistics. Additionally, there is a nice festival at the start/finish line where you can indulge in some beer once you complete your race (or your family can pass the time while you run).

Only negative -- the corrals. I wanted to move my legs before starting so I jogged around the track that it starts on for a bit and got in line to start very very close to the gun going off. The way they had corrals organized was basically a big chute, so I was stuck in the very back and had to do a lot of weaving in and out of people during the beginning of my run. As I was going for a PR, this was a big negative to me, but could be avoided by getting into the corrals sooner.

Would I recommend this race? Yes! Would I do it again? Yes, absolutely! The free beers at the end certainly don't hurt! :) Go out to Frederick and give this race a run!
