This race is right in the middle of City Park, so it is gorgeous and shaded as well. New course, very smooth and nice. I entered myself and my kids aged 7 and 9. We had a blast! The set up was great and nothing was missing. It took me only about 3 minutes to get our t-shirts and pre-reg packets. I got free coffee and the kids got smoothies. We were led off by a brass band who played throughout. After the race, we stuck around to check out the food and the booths, and to explore the kid's activity tent and bouncy house park. The kids' area was great! Multiple bouncy houses for different age groups and a whole bunch of craft projects. I actually had trouble pulling them away to go home.
It's a great cause with great people. Come out to support literacy, stay for the delicious food (local restaurants!), beer, music, and the mugs for participants. Bring your kids-- they will probably want to stay forever, like mine did!
