I have marked this as a trail race as it is on Brushy Creek trail, BUT it made up of composed of pavement and crushed granite, so not technically a trail. This is a local, small race offering only the marathon distance. The course consists 3 loops, approximately 8.75 miles each - while this may sound appealing for me it was mentally tough to run the third loop and have heard others runners say the same.

The trail remains open to the general public so you are sharing with bikers, other runners and walkers, but it wasn't too busy when I ran it, but you do have to be mindful. You can however have friends and family who are not registered for the race run alongside you. I had 3 friends run part of the distance with me.

Aid stations were approximately every 2 miles and well stocked, and the candy was welcome but unfortunately last year it melted!

I had several challenges when I ran this marathon including a suspected broken toe, and then getting sick. The unusually humidity and high temps, added to this made it a tough race to complete. The Race director was amazing, and kept the finish line open for myself and one other when we crossed past the cut off time.

The shirt was super fun, medal awesome and every year runner's get crazy Halloween socks.

Last year entrants was capped at 150, and registering early is recommended.
