Probably one of the prettiest runs and courses I've been on. A little bit of a logistical issue as one has to take the ferry to the island, but we made a weekend of it, so it was a great get away. This is a smaller race but is well supported with water on the course (but no porta potties!). Post race food was outstanding. We really enjoyed this one! Barefoot friendly course.

A Thanksgiving morning trot benefiting a local scholarship fund. Excellent family atmosphere with great local school support. Convenient parking, great energy. Chip timed and efficiently run. Awards are 10 year age groups, top three in each age group, best costume, biggest team, best team name. Out and back course, finishing on the local bike trail. Barefoot friendly course.

Awesome experience. Love that the kids from the hospital are out there for inspiration. Race management is very responsive to feedback on how to improve the course. Aid stations are well run and stocked well. This is a very high energy course with lots of spectators. I highly recommend. Barefoot runner friendly course.

This course if challenging from the aspect that it gets pretty long and lonely in the back stretch. If you're looking for high energy and cheering along the course, this isn't it. But it's good to run it to see what you're made of! Aid stations are well stocked and well run. Race management is very responsive and helpful. The course is mostly barefoot runner friendly, but there is a challenging portion after mile 17 that gets a bit technical. Doable if you're not a novice-barefooter.

I've done the full marathon here twice and the half twice. The course is flat. The weather can be unpredictable and brutal. The full course is really lonely and boring on the back side and the traffic is not particularly well-controlled in parts of it. However, it's a fast course and a long section of it is on the bike trail. For Toledo, it's a great effort and Clint does a great job with managing it. Having it on campus is very nice. It's a great marathon for those looking for a BQ without all the crowds. Just pack for both winter cold and summer hot. It's Ohio in April. Barefoot runner friendly course.
