My husband and I ran the Spartan Citi field stadium sprint last weekend (May 9th.) The terrain was challenging as your climbing up and down stairs for 3 miles. The course runs through the dugout, the field, and even inside the locker room which was pretty cool. For a race video and a detailed race recap with photos, visit my blog www.travelrunlive.com

Here's a summary:

Parking - $12. well communicated in advance, plenty of parking was available.

Packet pick up - You have to find your name pinned up on a board and then give your bib number to the packet pick up tent to get your packet. There's no race bib, instead you get a headband with your bib number. I think this is awesome as you don't have to worry about your bib falling off on the obstacles.

Organization - The waves were staggered allowing about 15 people to start every few minutes. We had an 11:45 start and started on time. overall very organized race.

Obstacles - not overly difficult. Heavy focus on upper body strength. Examples - sand bag carry, Herculean house (sandbag tied to a rope which you have to pull up) , water jug carry, rope climb, walls of varying length. NO MUD and NO WATER obstacles. You will come out of this race clean, which is one of the reasons we picked this particular race.

Swag - T-shirt. It's nice having "finisher" on the back and receiving it after race completion. I was a little bummed they didn't have womens and mens sizing, but they did have an x-small sized tee so that almost makes up for it. The finisher's medal is nice and the piece of the trifecta is a nice touch as well. Post race fuel included water, a banana, and a granola bar.

The race also gives out free photos. Currently I'm waiting on them to be ready, I can't wait to see them!

I'd recommend this race. It's something I would definitely run next year if I get the chance.
