This was my very first marathon. I've been saying it's my last, but its because running a marathon is the hardest thing I have ever done. The energy you get while running this race is simply indescribable. You get such a high and running through each neighborhood is a different experience. The north-side is crazy packed with fan. UIC has the coolest drum line right out front of the university. You get to see the best dancers in little Mexico as well as little Korea. The chicagoans really enjoy supporting their marathon runners. If I ever decide to run a marathon again, hands down this would be the one. Everything about this race was great from the expo, to the swag. You can also get to any part of the marathon course using Chicago's public transit. Great, great race!!

The Chicago Half Marathon was my third race and I would never run this race again. I'm sorry but the race route down and back LSD was very boring. There was absolutely nothing to look at (except other runners) while running...Very, VERY boring. The swag you get for running this race isn't much better. I gave my very female running shit to my sister and had to cab it all the way back to the north-side. With that said for a race taking place in a major city, it was very hard to get to.

I ran the R&R Chicago Half Marathon in 2012 and 2013. This was my first race and I truly had no idea what to expect. I can still remember how nervous I was waiting at the start line. It turned out to be an experience I will never forget. There was many times that I did not know if I was going to be able to finish, but with the support of the crowd(and my boyfriend) I made it to the finish line. The running experience was so great that I ran it again in 2013. Please note that the food and drinks after the race are great, definitely the best I've had. Xsport also has a complementary stretching tent that I'd take advantage of and use. :-) Happy Running!

The EXPO was a disaster! How many times can I say that? The expo was outside, it was cold, the line wrapped around the building and parking lot countless times, it was very un organized. The course is great, the swag is great but the actual hot chocolate... not so hot. :-( I expected a lot more from this race and was truly let down. Lets hope next year they can get it together.

This was my first race and I truly had no idea what to expect. I really enjoyed the expo and seeing how excited people got to run this race. The swag was awesome and so was the cheering crowd. Definitely a race I would run again.
