One nomination described the Sedona Half Marathon as the “perfect winter getaway to breathtaking scenery.” The city of Sedona itself makes it worth the trip, and many runners called this the “most scenic” race they’ve ever run. From start to finish, runners are treated to gorgeous views of the mountains and red rocks, and the early-February timing ensures cool race day temps. And race organizers do a great job working with the community to set-up perks and deals for race participants who are visiting for the weekend.

On course, the aid stations are always well stocked, and manned with volunteers who are dressed-up and having fun to make sure the runners are partying every mile. The course is an out and back, which translates into lots of waves, cheers, and high-fives from other runners approaching or returning from the turnaround.
